November 2003Amendments to current UKTA rules and regulations to take effect as of January 1 st 2004 GENERAL Age group classification for UKTA.
All students 13 years of age and older are required to grade at a National Area Seminar/Grading. As listed on the UKTA calendar of events. The National Area Seminar/Grading, seminar fee is £15 for children and £18 for adults (2 hour seminar), grading fee £15 for children £18 for adults. any student (adult or child) promoting from 4th kup to 3rd kup or above must do so at an area grading by a master. 4th kup children and above should attend the adult seminar - paying the £18 seminar fee There will be 4 (four) National Area Seminar/Gradings calendared each year All students must attend a minimum of 1 (one) national seminar every 6 (six) month making it a minimum of 2 (two) in a year in order to grade. This is to ensure and monitor that training standards remain constant throughout UKTA schools. All promotions above 2 nd Kup are to be a national level and to be conducted at National Area Seminar/Grading. Children grade at their regular training venue, by an International Instructor (see Examiner rules). At 13 years of age or 4 th Kup which ever comes first, they enter the national grading system. The first national grading attended will be an assessment grading. National Instructors not at the qualified level to grade are required to request an authorised registered International Instructor to conduct the exam for their students. International Instructors will be appointed by the Chief Examiner to supervise and conduct gradings for child students through the National Grading Coordinator. All School Gradings must be requested through the National Grading Coordinator in writing and confirmed at least seven days prior to the grading taking place. All applications for Area Seminar/Grading must be received and confirmed in writing by the National Grading Co-ordinator seven days prior to the Seminar/Grading date. Late applications up to the night prior to the Seminar/Grading will be charged £5 extra. No additional paperwork will be dealt with on the day. INSTRUCTORSAn Instructor is any Black Belt eighteen years of age or older, who has attended an appropriate Instructors Training Course, has valid Professional Indemnity insurance, holder of basic first aid certificate and the relevant approved Instructor Certificate in the following criteria. ‘C' ~ Class National Instructor must be of a minimum of 1 st Degree Black belt ‘B' ~ Class National Instructor must be of a minimum of 2 nd Degree Black belt ‘A' ~ Class National Instructor must be of a minimum of 3 rd Degree Black belt EXAMINERSAs a National Qualified Instructor of ‘C', ‘B' & ‘A' class, the following rules apply in relation to their grading authority:- 1 st Dan ‘C' ~ Class National Instructor can ONLY grade their own ‘Child Students' up to 6 th Kup Green Belt. Under the Supervision of an authorised International Instructor. All gradings above will be conducted by an authorised International Instructor. 2 nd Dan ‘B' ~ Class National Instructor can ONLY grade their own ‘Child Students' up to 4 th Kup Blue Belt. Under the Supervision of an authorised International Instructor. All gradings above will be conducted by an authorised International Instructor. 3 rd Dan ‘A' ~ Class National Instructor can ONLY grade their own ‘Child Students' up to 2 nd Kup Red Belt. Under the Supervision of an authorised International Instructor. INTERNATIONAL INSTRUCTOR/EXAMINER ‘International Instructor' must be of a minimum of 4 th Degree Black Belt, obtained ALL ‘C', ‘B', & ‘A' class National Instructor certificates Attended an ITF International Instructors course and hold of an International Instructor Certificate. International Instructors have the right by the ITF to promote their own students up to half of their own grade. However within the UKTA all Instructors agreed that ALL Black belt promotions be conducted by Chief Examiner, or an appointed Master acting on his behalf at the UKTA National Black Belt Gradings. International Instructors may not examine students who are not their own unless written consent has been given by the Chief Examiner. |
